Stacy Jarett Levitan, Esq.

Executive Director

Stacy holds both a Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from the University of Pennsylvania. Before coming to JCHAI, Stacy worked for a decade as a litigation attorney at the Philadelphia firm of Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis. Stacy served three years as JCHAI’s Chairperson, when she dramatically increased fundraising and continued to increase JCHAI’s profile in the community. Now Executive Director, Stacy is responsible for overseeing the direction of JCHAI’s programs and JCHAI’s day to day operations. Stacy is a passionate and tireless advocate who revels in opportunities to improve and strengthen the JCHAI community.

Stacy is intimately familiar with JCHAI’s mission, as her brother, Doug Jarett, is a resident. Growing up with a sibling who has intellectual disabilities gives Stacy a thorough and sympathetic perspective on the role JCHAI serves in families.

Janice Cooper, M.A.

Executive Program Director

Janice has a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and a Masters of Arts in Counseling. Before coming on board with JCHAI in 1994, she worked as a counselor for families with disabled children at Jewish Family and Children’s Services of Greater Philadelphia. Previously, Janice was also the Residential Director for the Bancroft School in Haddonfield, NJ, a residential program for individuals with disabilities.

Her other work experiences include working for 15 years with the Salvation Army to develop a camp program for individuals with disabilities as well as training programs for teachers. She has extensive teaching experience and training in the field of disabilities.

At JCHAI, Janice is in charge of most of the design and the direction of the supportive apartment program, as well as much of the programming for the residential portion of JCHAI. Janice also takes on a great deal of administrative tasks for the organization. Despite all her obligations, Janice always remains intimately involved in the day to day events of the lives of JCHAI residents.

Jonathan Eicher, M.S.W., M.B.A.

Director of Training and Residential Operations

Jonathan graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Program Development and Administration from the University of Delaware. He holds a Masters of Social Work degree from Marywood University, as well as a Masters of Business Administration from DeSales University.

Jonathan brings experience in both the fields of social services and the world of business and marketing. He brings a sense of compassion coupled with a passion for research and implementing ideas to help improve the quality of life for JCHAI residents.

At JCHAI, Jonathan is responsible for training of the staff and overseeing the operation of our residential programs, which involves staff supervision, goal planning for residents, and general interaction with our residents. Additionally, Jonathan has mentored social work interns from area universities as they fulfill their educational needs through JCHAI.

Candy Wiater, M.S.W., L.C.S.W.

Director of Home and Community Integration

Candy received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Spanish from West Chester University. She holds a Master of Social Work degree from Temple University and is a licensed clinical social worker. Additionally, she is certified to complete functional behavior assessments and provide behavioral intervention supports. Candy brings more than 15 years of experience in behavioral health and developmental disabilities services.

Candy is responsible for overseeing both the JCHAI At Home and the JCHAI Transitions programs. She has been largely responsible for the vast growth of JCHAI At Home through her innovative approach to individualized independent living and vocational services and she has helped to determine how to bring that same approach to JCHAI Transitions.

Beth Rosenwasser, PhD, BCBA-D

Director of Community Engagement & Program Development

Beth has a myriad of credentials to bring an informed perspective to the position of Director of Community Engagement. She was awarded a prestigious Conwell Fellowship at Temple University, where she completed a Doctorate in Education with a focus on Special Education and Curriculum Design. Reflecting a lifelong endeavor to help create a more just society, she received her Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy/Ethics at University of Pennsylvania. Before joining the JCHAI team, she designed and directed treatment programs for children and adults with a range of developmental and behavioral health needs. A pragmatic cognitive behavioral therapist, she is President of the Philadelphia Behavior Therapy Association, adjunct faculty at Temple University’s ABA program and has been a clinician for more than 20 years.

As JCHAI’s Community Engagement Director, Beth is often your first point of contact, assisting you to navigate our individualized programs. She is an advocate to community businesses to learn about the benefits of employing people with special needs and people at local organizations to facilitate inclusion of our JCHAI members. She is available to give presentations, focus groups and workshops at your school, organization or business on a variety of topics relevant to adults having an developmental disability or autism and their families and caregivers. She often shares the stage with JCHAI member self-advocates who inspire by telling their stories of independence.

Andi Oxman

Program Director, JCHAI Transitions

Andi Oxman is no stranger to the JCHAI community in that many of the JCHAI residents were her students in her Jewish education, cooking and holiday programs at Gratz College. Many JCHAI residents have traveled to Israel with her, were confirmed or became B’nei Mitzvah under her guidance.

Andi worked at Gratz College and its Jewish Community High School (JCHS) of Gratz College for over 24 years as the JCHS Director of Special Needs Programs and also as the Director of the Office of Disability Services for the college. Passionate about inclusion, she made sure that JCHS welcomed all students who desired to study about their Jewish heritage.

Andi is a graduate of Temple University with credits towards her Masters Degree at Arcadia University. She has led programs for the Elwyn community and also taught several (JCHS) Service Learning classes, one of which was an inclusion program for teens with disabilities, which she ran for eight years at Sunrise Assisted Living of Dresher.

As a member of the JCHAI staff, Andi will be working on programming for the JCHAI Transitions and JCHAI at Work. She is passionate about helping the individuals in the JCHAI community to have their lives filled with enriching experiences and opportunities, to assist them with their life as well as their vocational skills and aspirations, and provide them with meaningful programs to enhance their enjoyment of life and opportunities to make a difference in the community.

Carmen LeVere

Intake Coordinator, Office Manager

Carmen LeVere has more than 20 years experience as an Executive Assistant and Office Manager, as well as serving community members through her work at non-profit organizations. A caring, responsive JCHAI coordinator, Carmen is often your first contact at JCHAI, learning about your needs and matching you to one of our program directors.

Dave Mytych, M.S.W.

Dave received his Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Penn State University. In addition to this, Dave is a 2011 graduate of West Chester University’s Masters in Social Work program. Prior to starting as a JCHAI At Home social worker, Dave has participated in various practicum experiences with local human service agencies such as “Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Southeastern PA” as well as “Seasons Hospice” in King of Prussia, PA.

Dave brings a passion for helping his members achieve their full potential by helping them realize that they have control over their lives. In addition to this, Dave enjoys working with JCHAI because he helps members empower themselves so that they can make healthy and positive life choices.
